Breath
Therapy is a simple process that uses the body's natural healing response.
Using the techniques of circular breathing and gentle body work, restricted
breathing patterns open.
Coping with physical or emotional trauma results in repressed emotions,
which often express themselves in dysfunctional breathing patterns.
Normally we take in and release oxygen in a manner that does not disturb
these bottled up feelings. Slowly we begin to extinguish our body's ability
to rid itself of toxins, to express itself creatively and to take in love.
We feel pain in those areas that are neither properly oxygenated or releasing
physical or emotional wastes. Aches and pains appear from the muscular
tension necessary to maintain this state. From continuing upsets we stuff
more and more into our body.
The circular breath can circumvent the tendency to hold in our feelings,
and allow our body to release them.
In a supportive and safe environment, this release can be a profound and
life changing event. As the restrictions are relaxed, the debris of a
lifetime's worth of trauma and pain starts to exit.
Stifled creativity and love begins to express itself, and there is room
to receive and feel joy.
The knots of muscle tension that have been holding everything in place
begin to relax.
The body feels lighter and stronger. As the tangle of thoughts and ideas
created by the sticky glue of repressed feelings is unraveled, clearer
perceptions are available to guide us through life.
While Breath work is facilitated by me it is generally self-directed by
the client.
Apart from assessing the chakras to see which ones are closed indicating
resistance to the unfolding, I do not interfere with the client's experience.
Of course careful observation is needed to respond to client's needs from
moment to moment, but during quiet moments it is not unusual for me to
go into trance and access knowledge that may be useful for the client.
